Oral Health Centre Opens at Inglewood

The opening of the new oral health clinic at Inglewood primary school is another step in a modern new service for Taranaki.

Taranaki DHB service manager Warwick Gilchrist she the DHB had worked with the school to relocate the historic Inglewood  clinic within the school grounds.

“This is part of our Taranaki community oral health service that provides dental care and treatment for children aged 0 – 18 concentrating on pre and primary school aged children.”

“This is the fourth community oral health centre for Taranaki  and it caters for Inglewood and surrounding areas,” he said.  

“While the location of the clinic has not changed, parents and families will notice a real change with a  bright new start-of-the-art facility and equipment in a fully restored building.”

The clinic is a single chair facility is a welcome improvement for dental therapist Lynda Banks, the dental assistant Michele Jordan.

The approved Taranaki community Health service model features a ‘hub and spoke’ model comprising six community fixed clinics with mobile examination and treatment outreach services and health promotion services.
