Commerce Commission launches website for health sector
19 August 2014
The Commerce Commission has today launched a new website aimed at helping the health sector understand more about competition and consumer laws and what they need to do to comply.
“We’ve been working with members of the health sector since 2012 to increase their understanding of competition and consumer law. To help achieve this, we developed a series of easy-to-understand fact sheets specifically related to the health sector,” said Fazleen Ismail, Advocacy Manager.
“We published the fact sheets late last year but wanted to collect them all in one place so they would be easy to find and use. We hope this new website will do just that,” said Ms Ismail.
The website is particularly relevant to those in business or practising on their own. Health sector managers and employees should also be aware of how competition and consumer laws apply to the sector.
“We’ve tried to make the language and examples on the website really practical. And we’ve created a quick test that health professionals can take to see how much they already know and what they need to learn,” said Ms Ismail.
The new health sector website is http://health.comcom.govt.nz
