A whanau day out is the opening event for the ‘Nga Kete Hauora’ event series to be held at the Pungarehu pools on Sunday the 10th of February.

There will be a free sausage sizzle, face painting, a Pungarehu Idol singing competition, bouncy castle for the kids and of course the pools will be open free of charge to all from 11am-1pm.

“The whanau fun day is an introductory event for families . Future Nga Kete Hauora events include a historical hikoi to koru pa and Puke Te Whiti (Pukeiti) in March and a first aid for families course in April.,” she said.

Nga Kete Hauora also runs in the townships of Patea and Manaia and will be running in various venues throughout Coastal Taranaki, from Opunake town centre to Parihaka Pa.

Media are welcome to attend the Whanau Fun Day at the Pungarehu Pools from 11am-1pm, Sunday the 10th February.
