Mellowpuff Trust gives back to childrens ward

21 May 2012

A distraction bag for children in hospital is an idea the Mellowpuff Trust has come up with to help children cope with their stay in hospital.

Terry and Tanya Long from the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust will be giving the ‘distraction bags’ to children in the ward on the anniversary of their daughter Melissa Long who passed away from cancer in 2006.

Terry wanted to do something with the Children’s Ward and along with our Play Therapists has organised this project which will see the Mellowpuff Charitable Trust donate gifts to the Children’s Ward twice yearly on Melissa’s anniversary every May and on her birthday every September.

Terry and Tanya will be visiting Children’s Ward, Ward 2 at Base Hospital on Tuesday 22 May at 11.30 am to hand out some “distraction bags” to the children.
