World Smokefree Day
26 May 2008
World Smokefree Day is promoted annually on 31 May with activities varying from country to country.
The focus for World Smokefree Day 2008 is on creating a smokefree/auahi kore future for the young people of Aotearoa New Zealand. The successful 2007 theme will be repeated:
“Smokefree…it’s about us / Kia Auahi Kore mō tātou te kaupapa.”
Four Taranaki DHB staff have shared their experiences of giving up smoking. It has taken several attempts for them to stop smoking but through perseverance and determination they are reaping the benefits of being Smokefree.
They have shared their stories to celebrate World Smokefree Day (31 May) and hope others will be inspired to attempt to stop smoking.
