Services we provide
We support people who are experiencing accidental or involuntary loss of:
- wee (urine) from the bladder (urinary incontinence), or
- poo (faeces) or wind (flatus) from the bowel (faecal incontinence).
The clinical nurse specialist will first assess your continence issue. This can be done:
- in the clinic
- by phone or Zoom
- in your home.
We will give you advice on how to best manage your continence problem.
Our services include:
- bladder and bowel management care and advice
- bladder retraining programmes
- providing information to you and your whānau or caregivers
- consultation and advice if you have medication-induced incontinence
- referral to a pelvic floor physiotherapist for assessment and treatment
- liaison with GPs, urologists, gynaecologists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and dieticians if needed
- advice on how to access and use continence products.
We may invite you to come back for an annual reassessment.
