The district nursing service in Rotorua and Taupō provides specialist nursing care in the community. We can visit you in your home or see you at a hospital clinic.

The district nursing service and wound clinic at Rotorua Hospital is on Pukeroa Street, across the road from the main hospital entrance.

Services we provide

District nurses in Rotorua and Taupō work closely with you and your healthcare team. They can provide a range of nursing services including:

  • specialist wound care — at home and in the wound clinics at Rotorua and Taupō hospitals
  • intravenous therapy
  • specialist services such as ostomy and continence.

We also provide short-term nursing services following an injury. Note that home help or personal care services are not included in our contract with ACC for injury care.

When you are referred to the district nursing service, we will co-ordinate your care until your care is transferred back to your regular healthcare provider.
