Social Workers

Te Whatu Ora Taranaki social workers provide psycho-social support for patients who experience distress (personal/social/financial etc) due to medical events, including events which may be life changing or life threatening. Social workers assist patients to problem-solve their situation to address their concerns.

Patients may request the services of a social worker are referred by the health professional or case manager caring for them. Our service includes maternal and child health; pregnancy counselling, all adult medical/surgical services including palliative care, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for the elderly.

Services are provided Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm.
