Our staff

Nursing and midwifery staff make up 43% of Taranaki DHB’s workforce and cover a diverse range of services and departments including surgical, medical, paediatric, assessment and rehabilitation, neonates, oncology, palliative care, mental health, district and community services, and midwifery in maternity.  Nursing and midwifery services are provided at the Taranaki Base Hospital and Hawera Hospital, and nursing services at the Stratford Health Centre.

Competence Assessment Programmes

Taranaki District Health Board have discontinued the Competence Assessment Program. Please refer to the Nursing Council Website for information on other programs in Taranaki.

Nurse Entry to Practice Programme

We are happy to discuss and provide information relating to the Nurse Entry to Practice (NETP) opportunities within our DHB. All applications can only be made through the Nursing Advanced Choice of Employment (ACE) website and are open from 19 August to 13 September.

Resources for Lead Maternity Carers

Hepatits B in pregnancy (PDF 130 KB)
Addressing Hepatitis B during pregnancy can help to prevent the transmission of this disease to the baby. This algorithm supports a process for Lead Maternity Carers to follow antenatally and triggers post natal monitoring for both mother and baby.
