Te Whatu Ora Taranaki offers a range of secondary services for type 1 and 2 diabetes. Patient services include:

Specialist doctors
Clinical nurse specialists
Dieticians
Podiatry services
Psychology services

Most of your diabetes care should be provided by your general practitioner/primary care provider. However you may be referred to these services if you require further support or treatment.

Your appointment

Please bring the following to any diabetes appointment:

Your recent blood glucose results in your record book
Your blood glucose meter and recording book
An up to date list of your medications
If you have an insulin pump or flash glucose device ensure you have undertaken a recent download
