Shellfish warning lifted Mohakatino - Motunui in Taranaki

23 September 2013

The Taranaki District Health Board today lifted a public health warning against collecting or consuming shellfish from Mohakatino down to Motunui.

Signage is currently being removed from the coastline and all major stakeholders have been informed. Regular testing of shellfish will continue to ensure that any increases in toxin levels are detected promptly.

We would like to thank the public for their co-operation during the event.

For more information about the safety of the shellfish, people can contact a Health Protection Officer toll free at 0508 834 274.
