Green Feet Leading the Way to Healthy Food
31 January 2013
Choosing healthy family meal ideas has just become easier at the 4Square45 in Opunake, with the beginning of the “Green Feet” campaign.
Beginning February 2013 and running for the entire month, green feet will be stuck to the supermarket floor to lead customers to healthier choice ‘Green Feet’ food items. These items are also marked with bright green shelf talkers and are also ingredients in the ‘Green Feet’ recipes. The ‘Green Feet’ recipes are found at the 4Square45 counter. These meals take into account nutrition, value for money, and are also food items that can be used on a day to day basis.
Taranaki DHB Health Promoter Hinenui Bryant said, “We wanted the recipes to be appropriate for summer, easy to make and most of all include ingredients that you would use everyday”. “Its about making small sustainable changes like choosing low fat milk and cheese or adding frozen veggies to meals to boost your 5+ a day” adds Bryant.
Taste tests will also be held on Tuesday, 5 February and 19 February, from 12noon - 1pm for those wanting to try out the recipes. Supermarket tours will be held on Tuesday, 12 February and 26 February from 12.15pm - 12.45pm and again from 1pm - 1.30pm for those wanting to gain more information about healthy food and grocery shopping. The supermarket tours have limited numbers. To book a spot contact Hinenui Bryant on 06 753 7799 or email email@example.com
4Square45 are also running weekly competitions to promote green feet during February. Simply purchase $30 in store, plus 1 green feet food item and enter the draw to win a $50 4Square45 voucher. Winners will be contacted.
4Square45 came on board with the project as they are passionate about food, nutrition and their customers. “We always aim to give our customers the best food with value for money and the green feet project is another way of helping customers choose healthier options,” said store owner Marlies Butland-Delfus.
Media are welcome to attend the launch of the Green Feet Campaign at the 4Square45 Opunake at 12noon on Friday, 1 February.
