Taranaki DHB Celebrates Children’s Day: Our theme this year is ‘love and affection'

3 March 2011

Taranaki DHB and ward two at Taranaki Base are celebrating children’s day.

On Thursday 3rd Friday, 4th and Monday 7th Tuesday 8th March every child who comes into the hospital will receive some thing to promote the occasion.

Play specialist Sharon Luque said:  “We want to give children either some activity which celebrates them and might encourage their care givers to take time out with them.”

“Our wonderful volunteers at the entrances to Base hospital will have recourses to give out to any children that come in,” she said.

The children’s ward and Child & Adolescent Community Centre will be promoting activities that parents can do with there child/children. Activities such as face painting, lots of hugs and various art work.

Children's Day - Te Rm O Te Tamariki provides New Zealanders with an opportunity to share time with children. It takes place every year on the first Sunday of March and is a chance to celebrate how special and important our children are. Join us to celebrate the 11th National Children's Day - ‘love and affection'
