National Release of DHB's Serious & Sentinel Events

The Health Quality & Safety Commission New Zealand today released a report from all DHBs on their Serious & Sentinel Events. The purpose of recording and investigating preventable adverse events in hospitals is to improve patient safety. The aim of this process is to understand why these events have occurred and to take action to try to prevent similar events from happening in the future.
