Taranaki Programme Weekly Update

As the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Aotearoa continues to grow, and the virus has begun its journey south towards Taranaki, efforts to increase the numbers of people getting vaccinated take on even more urgency.

We have seen more people coming through the clinic door to get their first dose jabs, which is fantastic, but we need everyone to step up if we are going to get our communities through what is to come.

Getting vaccinated doesn't just benefit an individual because they don't get as sick if they do contract the virus, it benefits the whole community because that person is less likely to transmit the virus, so less people get sick in the first place. It means we don't have to be locked down to save lives, because lives will be less likely to be on the line. It means we can still enjoy the freedoms of meeting friends and whānau for a meal, a night out, a celebration. We could have our summer back to party, to enjoy live music, to go to our favourite festivals and concerts.

It means a whole lot.

So.. Get with the programme, Get Booked and Get Vaccinated!

It is so easy to do - the online booking portal Book My Vaccine makes the process very straightforward - and has a booking availability tool so you can see at a glance were clinics are and what appointment times they have free.

Check out the TDHB website too - there are details there of the pop-ups happening around the region - and the numerous walk-in opportunities there are.

Our Māori partner-providers are also doing a great job of holding clinics and meeting community needs - see below for more details.

And don't forget your local GP clinics and pharmacies who have lots of appointments - and many are also doing walk-ins too! Check out if your doctor is offering COVID-19 vaccinations at Healthpoint.

Your time is NOW, Taranaki.

Our last mass community vaccination clinics are being held this weekend at the TSB Stadium, New Plymouth and the TSB Hub, Hāwera (see details above) - WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.

If you have an appointment already booked for your first dose, you can change it to an earlier date by going to Book My Vaccine, by calling 0800 28 29 26 or by coming into any clinic and speaking to a member of our team.
