If you:
  • are aged 65 or over, or
  • have a relevant underlying health condition, or
  • are disabled, or
  • are in a position of caring for a person with a disability, or
  • are pregnant (any trimester)

Our main vaccination clinics in Hawera and New Plymouth, and our partner providers Tui Ora and Ngati Ruanui, have been very busy with the ramp up to more than 5,000 programme vaccinations this week. Next week will be even busier as we aim to exceed the 7,000 mark!

It's been great to see our clinics full of people who are appreciating the service they receive from our teams of vaccinators and admin staff - check out some of the feedback!

Community COVID-19 vaccination clinics coming to Stratford

Community vaccination clinics for people living in the Stratford District (and close by) to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine are being held on August 6/7 and August 20/21.

Around 6,000 appointments are available for anyone aged 16 and over to receive their COVID-19 vaccination.

Second dose clinics will be held in September – appointments will be booked automatically for these.

The clinics are being held at the Stratford War Memorial Centre on Miranda Street from 9am.

To book an appointment at the community event, people living in the Stratford District should call 0800 28 29 26 and quote the access code BD8SUD5QH3.

From July 28, the BookMyVaccine online booking portal (www.bookmyvaccine.nz) will be going live, and Stratford district residents will be able to make an appointment for themselves using the same access code.

People can book for other family members aged 16 and over at the same time as making their own appointment.

Anyone needing support to make an appointment can go to Stratford Library on Fridays between 10am and 12pm where a volunteer will be on hand to help.

You can also find assistance at the Stratford Council offices, Unichem MacKay’s Pharmacy, Stratford Pharmacy and Avon Medical Centre.

Check out the Taranaki COVID-19 website which contains all the information you need to know about the programme, the COVID-19 vaccine, when you can expect to receive your vaccine and much more.

Misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine

We know that many people have received pamphlets or brochures containing misleading or factually incorrect information about receiving a vaccination or the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine itself.

Our advice to the Taranaki community is to ensure they are fully informed using trusted and reliable sources such as the Ministry of Health and Unite Against COVID-19 websites. People can also talk to their healthcare professional of choice.

We would encourage you to report any false or misleading information such as leaflets, publications or websites to CERT NZ or by calling 0800 2378 69. You can also report what you believe to be false or misleading information seen on social media to the respective social media platform e.g. Facebook, Twitter and so on. These platforms will have buttons or forms in which you can report this information.

Getting vaccinated is a personal choice. We ask people in Taranaki to get the facts to the make the right decision for you, your family and your community.
